About
Well what the heck is a
jelly bucket?
It’s an archaic slang term for a lunch pail, formerly used by coal miners and other laborers residing in Appalachia.
You've found your personal jelly bucket; a great place to fuel your literary interests. Jelly Bucket is the place to for book reviews, author interviews and insightful stories all curated by our staff and MFA students of the Bluegrass Writers Studio.
Jelly Bucket, for reading
The print journal of the Bluegrass Writers Studio is distributed nationally to select Barnes and Noble and independent bookseller locations.
We accept works of fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction, as well as visual art. Preference is given to visual art that incorporates text and/or features an aspect of the book arts, but all genres are welcome.
Our reading period for our annual journal runs from July 1st — December 1st.
