Well what the heck is a
jelly bucket?

It’s an archaic slang term for a lunch pail, formerly used by coal miners and other laborers residing in Appalachia.

You've found your personal jelly bucket; a great place to fuel your literary interests. Jelly Bucket is the place to for book reviews, author interviews and insightful stories all curated by our staff and MFA students of the Bluegrass Writers Studio.

The work here is from my series entitled Babel. Babel is about human communication and it’s recent evolution into a constant stream of data regurgitated by our smart devices. On a daily basis, we in the industrialized world are exposed to mountains of visual, written and audible information. So much so that we cannot possible hope to process it all. What does all this data amount to if our brains are unable to process it? For me it amounts to a useless pile of symbols, noise, and distraction. Letters twisted in spirals, piled in pyramids, maddening codes, equations, and data leaking out of holes are my attempt to depict this assault on our senses.
