Editor-in-Chief: Jay Adams
Jay Adams is an Appalachian transfeminine writer currently residing in Berea, KY. They are an MFA candidate at Eastern Kentucky University’s Bluegrass Writers Studio, with a focus on poetry and creative nonfiction. Their academic writing has appeared in Bryn Mawr College’s Teaching and Learning Together in Higher Education. When not writing and studying, they spend their time working at EKU’s Noel Studio for Academic Creativity as a communications consultant, cooking, and reading JSTOR for fun with their partner, Cia, and cat, Harmony. After finishing at the Bluegrass Writers Studio, they hope to achieve a PhD in Literature or Rhetoric & Composition and teach writing in all its forms.
Alumni Editor: Eric Willis
Eric W. Willis lives and works in Lexington, Kentucky. He is a writer, reader, world traveler, visual artist, and pharmacist. As a graduate of the Bluegrass Writers Studio MFA program, he is the 2021 Emerging Writer Award winner in creative nonfiction. His essays and poems have been published and anthologized across a variety of platforms. Most recently, his work appeared as the series three opener for the podcast A Blind Play of Social Forces; and he recently released his first illustrated children's book, The Tree Who Could Not See. Creative Nonfiction Editor: Sarah Allen
Sarah Stoltzfus Allen, above all else, loves a Terry’s dark chocolate orange on Christmas morning. She is a mom, a poet and essayist, an avid earl grey tea drinker, and she tolerates the snake living under her porch. When she gets the time she hikes the hills of her beloved Eastern Kentucky home and dreams outlandish dreams. What seems like a lifetime ago, she studied music education and creative writing at Morehead State University. This is her second year in Eastern Kentucky University’s M.F.A. in Creative Writing program and first year working at the Jelly Bucket. You can find her published in various online and print journals and her debut chapbook, The Darks and the Lights (Finishing Line Press), was published in September 2023.
Fiction Editor: Sara K. Green
S.K. Green received her M.A. and B.A. in Philosophy, her Ed.S. in Educational Leadership, and is pursuing an M.F.A. in Creative Writing at the Bluegrass Writers Studio in Richmond, KY. Her passion is for writing speculative fiction, especially horror. She was born in Columbus, OH, and currently resides in Lexington, KY. Her creative work has been published in Allegory e-Zine, Trembling with Fear, and Catholic Digest.
Poetry Editor: Ethan Connelly
E. T. Connelly is a central Kentucky native. He is currently enrolled in the MFA program at the Bluegrass Writers Studio. He spends his free time standing in the living room commenting on the romance-reality-television his wife and chihuahua watch; he swears he is not interested. He is fortunate and grateful for their love.
